One of our favorite introductions from this month’s Salone del Mobile was Fritz Hansen’s NAP chair.
NAP, which was designed by Kasper Salto, is an acronym for Normal, Active, Passive- the most important postures the body adopts for sitting. Although it is surprisingly thin, the chair is meant to support lingering (unlike some 20-minute chairs that we love for their looks but can’t sit in for even a half-hour). The shell, which is stackable, is made of nylon with subtle ridges and will be available in a selection of soft colors. We particularly like the elegance of its lightweight form that is feminine but not precious. And, as usual, Fritz Hansen has created amazing imagery that makes us want to order several units immediately. Available September 2010.
