The rich Mexican heritage of Santa Fe (the location of our West Coast office) is apparent not only in the traditional architecture, artwork, and furnishings that can be seen throughout the city, but also in the textiles that decorate some of the older, more historic locales of the community. One such textile is Mexican oilcloth, which can be found in casual Santa Fe cafes and private kitchens. Although the bright beautiful patterns of Mexican oilcloth are a cheerful addition to many interiors, the more contemporary as well as the more traditional linen versions are perhaps more appropriate for other settings. Oilcloth can be used for a wide variety of purposes…tablecloths, grocery bags, lunch sacks, aprons, seat cushions…the possibilities are endless!
