While shopping with a client this weekend, we ran across a pair of vintage end tables labeled John Stuart, Inc. Unfamiliar with the maker, we both loved the proportions and beautiful hardware on the drawers. Details like dovetailed construction and 50% off an already LOW price for the pair made our decision very easy: the tables went home with us thirty minutes later.

Ikat, a type of fabric traditionally produced throughout Central and Southeast Asia, has gained in popularity over the last several years. With its graphic patterns (which are achieved through resist dying and weaving) and bold color pallets, ikat can make a great choice for small upholstery projects like occasional chairs.
