In the right context, stair runners can be a great opportunity to add some personality to your home. Foyers and entry halls are often overlooked, but these transition and arrival spaces are important- they see a lot of traffic and can set the tone for visitors. If you’re lucky enough to have a great stair in your home (particularly older homes with traditional architecture), here are some of our favorite carpeted stairs.
On a trip to Seattle in 2009, I stopped into the Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park Pavilion to check out Geoff McFetridge’s installation “In The Mind.” One of my favorite components was a graphic wallpaper featuring dense crowds of people, and I was happy to find its retail source today.
