Minimal, industrial-style fixtures have been popular in design for several years. With their simplicity and inherent honesty, these types of fixtures put the focus squarely on the light source (usually an Edison bulb, which, not coincidentally, have become ubiquitous as well). We have to admit that we are quite fond of this look, and have used it before. We even have a project at the moment that is using straight-from-the-hardware-store porcelain sockets as wall sconces. (And if you’re interested, these are the best keyless sockets available!)

Sometimes this look isn’t quite refined enough for a particular installation, so we were thrilled to run across Spot on Lighting recently. Their take on the idea of the bare socket is unbelievably simple and glamourous.

Aren’t all of these fixtures lovely? They sit flush with the wall and are available for installation in drywall, mirror, stone, wood, tile, poured concrete, and suspended ceilings. We can think of quite a few spaces they would work in. If you’d like more information, visit Spot on Lighting’s website.
