We’re just beginning the gut renovation of two bathrooms in a San Francisco residence, and we’re using the opportunity to visit a few of our favorite tile and stone showrooms and see what’s new in the marketplace. One product we’re eager to see in person is the new Visage glass tile from Ann Sacks.
Although typically thought of as a high end tile line, Ann Sacks does have a number of beautiful ceramic, stone, glass, and porcelain tiles that are in fact budget friendly.
Oilcloth can be used for a wide variety of purposes…tablecloths, grocery bags, lunch sacks, seat cushions…the possibilities are endless!
Originally thought to be a more traditional material, soapstone is being more readily used in contemporary kitchens. It looks equally great paired with classic subway tiles or with a more contemporary metal backsplash.
It’s finally starting to feel like summer, and we’ve begun to feel the water’s pull- it must be time to go boating! Whenever we think about spending time on the water, we inevitably start to think about rope and sailing knots. The patterns and shapes made with this simple material are endlessly inspiring. But you don’t need to relegate rope to a “nautical pursuits only” status. Think about bringing it inside, too.
