Providence-based yoga instructor Elyse Rotondo hired OreStudios to craft a design for Om Kids Yoga Center that would appeal to both children and their families. Combining her affinity for strong color and organic textures, the resulting tenant infill project is a beautiful, warm space for kids to participate in innovative yoga classes. Located in a historic mill building in Providence, Rhode Island, the center’s existing walls were either relocated or removed and clad in sequence-matched red-oak plywood. Custom casework throughout incorporates an exposed laminated plywood edge with brightly colored exteriors and door faces.
Curtains hang from galvanized pipes and a custom pendant from Studio Dunn illuminates the front desk.
A judicious use of bold color creates a space that strikes a balance between bright and calm.
