With a layout well matched to his lifestyle as well as enviable views of Lake Union and downtown, our client found a good match with this home. Having been substantially altered twenty ago, the finishes and fixtures were incongruent and dated, but he felt confident that the right team could find ways to make the interiors feel less corporate and cold. OreStudios was asked to lead this effort, and began the process of completely overhauling the look and feel of the home.

Floors throughout were replaced with new white oak, quieting the existing sycamore and cement fiber wall paneling. Green and cool gray paints were eliminated in favor of soft greige. New tile, stone and custom casework also make the interiors feel more substantial and cozy. Decorating the new rooms began with a small but important collection of Art Deco furnishings and art that the client already owned. Incorporating these pieces alongside new vintage and contemporary furnishings, the overall effect hews to his tailored point of view but manages to feel relaxed and modern.

New architectural finishes and subtle furnishings help to quiet large expanses of paneling that remain from a previous renovation.

Tailored textures inspired by classic menswear were employed throughout the home.
